Tennessee Football News Updates:
- Big Charles Moseley suffered a season ending injury in a car accident over July 4th weekend. He received surgery for a broken tibia and fibula.
- The Opening event in Oregon saw Vol legacy, Khalil McKenzie, make his pledge to Butch Jones and the Vols. This is a HUGE pickup for Jones as McKenzie has the talent to be a star from day 1. This is the type of recruit that has the ability to change a program for the better in a hurry. After earning the DL MVP at The Opening against the nation's top high school talent paired with a need at the DT spot, McKenzie will get a chance to show what he can do very early in his career on Rocky Top. He's also started to heavily recruit other top prospects for the Vols as well, which could help bring more elite talent with him to Tennessee.
- Tennessee has its second "Orange Carpet" weekend approaching in mid-July. After the success of the first one in June, the Vols look to continue to build momentum on the recruiting trail at this event. Quarte Sapp (LB) and Drew Richmond (OT) are two to keep an eye on as the Vols have targeted both prospects heavily. It will be crucial to ensure Richmond makes that trip to remain in his top three schools along with Ole Miss and Alabama. Richmond is scheduled to announce September 9th and the Vols need his services as their LT of the future.
